Nice to see this forum board. This will definitely help IT Professionals to have an idea about Internet Service Providers Repute before purchasing any connection.

Is there anyone who can tell me about PTCL DSL services? I wanted to buy home user package. Hows it going?

Ptcl is a main company in pakistan providing internet solution. Rates are as follows

1200  for  1 mb
2000  for  2 mb
5000  for  4 mb

The quality of DSL depends on the quality of your phone line. If the line is clean, you will have a good connection. I used 2MB service from PTCL and was not satisfied. I have tried Worldcall Evdo and Mobilink Infinity, and out out of three (PTCL, Worldcall and Mobilink), like Mobilink the best. You can find details at http://www.pforpositive.com/?p=36.
I also think that PTCL's customer service is pathetic. Something to keep in mind.

You're wrong. The connection details are:

512 kbps for 1199
1 mbps for 1999
2 mbps for 4999

for kilo bytes you devide kilo bits into 8 example 512 kbps equals to 64 kBps

Only three packages available at the moment and I better suggest you to apply as student if any of your family member is studying in SSC or Intermediate or above and get 30% discount on any package.

Note: Unlimited bandwidth on any connection.

It was said few days back in the newspapers that PTCL is starting its broadband service without the phone lines very soon and its venturing with one of the top companies Peswani Corporations. I currently use the PTCL DSL and there are a few problems lately, the net gets stuck when there is a problem in the phone line. I just hope that the broadband service of it comes great.

PTCL started a new wireless DSL service. Broadband On the Go. It's very expensive right now for hardware and for connection. I will update about the package tommorow.

I never heared anything like that, if anyother got any news about this then please update, I will love PTCL if they reduce their package price or increase the speed for the same package.

Yeah very right. It's between 1-2 months that they have successfully upgraded/doubled their speed. (Posted late because the forum wasn't stable but it's fine now).

i got a call from ptcl sales person and he was saying to give me 1 mb internet and unlimited calls and tv in just rs 2000 per month i think its great
