I am the webmaster for our school, I am by no means an expert, so excuse me if I sound ignorant of these issues. My question/problem. I made our school web site in Dreamweaver, took it to school and update it on Netscape composer. The web site looks fine when I look at it on a Mac, but absolutely horrible on a PC, regardless of the browser, we mostly use Safari. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it??

beside some errors due to the use of deprecated tags and to the not-so-good coding of those wysiwyg editors, i don't know exactly what's the real problem.

unfortunately i don't have a mac, maybe you should post a screenshot of safari so i can make a comparison and see if i can help you.

bye

Here is the screen shot. It's only the top part of the page, but on a PC there seems to be more white space on the right and narrower columns. http://www.lesd.k12.az.us/Verrado/library/screenshot.pdf
Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

the main difference is the shade of gray of your menu, probably due to the fact the color isn't websafe.
also noticed your screenshot doesn't include the upper header, but you can see how it displays on my system.

as soon as i have time, i'll give a look at it on a win machine.

so check the color you used for your page background and the one you used for the flash menu and make sure is websafe.

bye

It may be simple way to resolve: create several css stytesheets an duse small java script code for detecting what Mac or PC an dwhat kind of browsers are you use. And automatically use right stytesheet file.
